I Googled “encaustic artists” and one of the first entries was Toni Scherman. THe above work is titled “Simone as Slave” and was created with encaustic and cornmeal on a large,48″ x 45″, canvas. This piece is part of his “About 1865” series and is quite powerful and expressive.
