Carmen Messon was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Ever since she was a child, she has enjoyed drawing; as an adolescent she also has become passionate about painting as well.
She studied at The Lucchetti School of Visuals Arts in San Juan, Puerto Rico, known today as the Central School of Visual Arts. She took a basic course in graphic design in the University of Houston, Texas.
Carmen also received a bachelor’s degree in Communications specializing in the Visual Arts at the University of the Sagrado Corazón (Sacred Heart University), San Juan, Puerto Rico.
She has received various awards of recognitions for excellence of labor and dedication to the arts. One of her works was chosen from 203 paintings across the country and was selected winner by the Congressional Caucus of Washington DC in the Puerto Rican Cultural Institute.
