Sakal artwork I first saw Muyuki Sakal’s work in the May issue of Martha Stewart’s “Living” magazine. She created illustrations of dishes, and real pastries were placed on top and photographed.The illustrations look like pencil or pastel, except for the odd stitching thread left hanging here or there. The artwork is done completely with threads and a sewing machine.. Mayuki Sakal calls this work “Sewing Illustration”, and she has been creating this type of art for over twenty years.
