Mee the newest artist of Building 5, Workhouse Center for the art…Rebecca Chase. She creates unusual sculptures (See below), paintings and photographs.
Rebecca Chase states,”I’m a professional student and a jack of all trades (mediums). You name it, I’ve tried it. I started off painting with oils, and stuck with that until about my second year at university. Then I moved to film photography, and began collecting toy cameras. I learned to felt and took a 2 week class at Penland where I learned to make felt hats. I spent a year or two working with glass-especially hot glass. I took a class in papermaking, and spent several years making books and journals.”
