I have been learning how to construct sculptural wax flowers from encaustic paint, thanks to the dvd “Wax Twist:Folding, Twisting, Curling” by Cari Hernandez. Her dvd is entertaining to watch and easy to follow. Ms. Hernandez shows also how to make colored wax flowers and ribbons, which I will try another day.
The basic process to create these sculpted flowers is : 1, paint encaustic on plexiglass, 2, fuse, 3 scape off , and 4, construct.
The first painting(starting at the left) will be entered into the Target Gallery‘s “150” show, where the artist donates a painting . The cost of the work, $150, benefits the March of Dimes. Its a great cause, and a great deal for collectors.
