“Old Film, New Film,” 60″x60″, encaustic mixed media, 2016
This painting compares and contrast the black and white past with the colorful present. On the left side of the work, we see the year 1917, when men made jokes about putting Suffragists in boxes, police arrested Suffragists for bogus charges, and Frankenstein’s monster murdered women and children. On the right side of painting, three young adults work together in harmony.
