My Favorite Tools and How I Use Them

Mini Ribbon Tool, part of Mini Ribbon Tool Set.  I like using this tool to carve fine lines into my encaustic wax surfaces.

Razor Blade. This blade is great for smoothing a cold encaustic surface to bring a glass like appearance. Any small bumps or changes in surface level disappear after using the blade.

Palette Knife.  I use this tool with a heat gun or torch to smooth my wax surface. It can also be used to scrape away paint, to fuse layers of paint together  or to push in crystals or other small objects.

Needle Tool.  I love to use this tool once I have heated it with my torch. It works like a charm to piece wax objects. Then I can add wire to the object and attach the object to my painting surface.
