Kathleen Carlson creates work through sculpture, painting and digital means. I especially enjoy her series titled “Pandora’s Box”, which explores myths . The sculpture to the left, titled “Daphne”, explores the moment when Daphne has been turned into a tree/plant to evade rape by Apollo. Here, the artist depicts her surprise and suffering, as she seems almost horrified to lose all her limbs.
To see her work in person, please visit The Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Arts Center.
