Dario Robleto is an artist who works and lives in Texas. I discovered his art while visiting the New Orleans Museum of Art, where I saw his show ” The Prelives of the Blues”. My favorite piece in this series was painting to your left, titled “Folks on the Fringe”. This art was created from cut paper, colored pencil, foam core, and glue. The words in inside the work are witty, and comment on the modern times. For example, to top left panel says “Arts& Crafts School”, and “The Freak Life of Creativity”.
Here is a quote about his work…”Robleto employs a variety of media in his artworks, creating intricately handcrafted objects that reflect his passionate exploration of music, popular culture, science, war and American history.”
